Practical Tips for Optimizing Images

Even with the use of caching and CDN , unoptimized images will still leave a significant impact in slowing down the speed of the blog.

Therefore, your first step in the process of increasing blog speed is to optimize the image on your website.

As a website owner, images are under our complete control.
But unfortunately, not everyone is good at optimizing images.

It’s not hard but it’s rarely revealed. So no wonder if you don’t know

On average, images burden up to 30% of the Latest Mailing Database total load time of our website.

In some cases that I have handled, some are up to almost 60%. This is something that is very unacceptable to me.

Here is an example of how unoptimized images can affect your website:

Imagine your website takes 12 seconds to load and the weight of the whole page is 8MB..

… where part of that amount, the image alone already weighs 6.7MB!

The dimensions of an image mean;

How much space the image takes up on the screen and is measured in pixels px

Latest Mailing Database

The larger the dimensions of an image, the larger the Optin List size or weight of the image.

Image weight size is usually measured in units of Kilobytes (kB) or even Megabytes (mB)

To facilitate your understanding, the width of the main column space of this blog is 600px.

For example, if I take a photo with my camera, the width of the photo is usually around 4000px (or more) with a weight of around 5MB (or 5000kB).

If I take a picture with my camera and upload it directly to the blog without any optimization..

… then I uploaded something 6 times more than what was needed.
